Focus / Activities in Purchasing
- Manage and execute national and international purchasing projects with German and international purchasing teams.
- Advise and support national and international development programmes and special projects.
- Responsibility for product groups and strategy definition for direct materials (€24m spend): couplings, pipe fittings, turned parts, nozzles, stamped & drawn parts, sprinklers, foam/foam components, competitive products, cast & pressed parts, springs, chains, paints & coatings, and auxiliary materials as well as indirect materials (€6m spend): Mobile telephony, fixed network, printed materials, travel management, multifunction printers, translations.
- Ensuring sustainable supply capability in times of crisis, e.g. during the coronavirus pandemic or the Russian war of aggression.
- Development and integration of risk management systems
- Supported the establishment of an international purchasing team (USA - Europe - Asia) following the acquisition of the company and took over the global purchasing management for Europe in the global team.
- Monitoring and analysing sourcing markets
- Ensured achievement of KPIs: savings, supplier reduction, payment terms optimisation, second sourcing for all tool-related parts, improving framework agreement quotas, quality indicators, as well as optimisation of delivery times.
- Managing and developing suppliers, including on-boarding and off-boarding
- Conducting make or buy analyses
- Consolidating and optimising the supplier base
